#Voice PE with solid blue ring (slight rotation effect)
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
that is odd:
does it do this when not attached to llm?
title says its rotating. in which direction is it rotating?
what version of HA are you running and which version of the firmware is the VPE running?
Turning it off and on makes it flash
For a second
Doing a power reset
Yeah back to normal
Who knows, I expect it may happen again, this was the second time
I am converting from echo cuz fuck bezos, so not a lot to test with yet that works with homeassistant.
my first thought is that it could be the llm doing it.
you can try removing the "LED Ring" entity from the list that it can access
it could be a firmware issue in which case i would recomend reflashing the firmware - https://voice-pe.home-assistant.io/guides/firmware-reinstall/
it could be a hardware issue too in theory but that would be harder to narrow down for sure
Hmmm, I did ask it to iterate devices it knew, and tell me what it could do with the voice assistant
But it did not see the led ring
But yeah good thought, thanks
there are updates coming in the next week too, that may as a side effect work. if nothing works then it could be hardware and you may need a replacements. at leaast it works for most practical purposes so you can play around with it
Yeah, just need a bunch of zigbee bulbs
I thought it was a piece of crap for a while until I remembered to say okay nabu instead of hey nabu
this is actually a fairly common issue. it seems to bee the phycology of various other voice assistants using "hey"
in my experience its not learning the change yourself thats the pain. its the teaching other people to change
I love the idea of an eink display on the side showing info like wake word
They are so cheap and easy nowadays
oh that's a pretty cool idea. could 3d print a new case with mountings for it
I thought of it for cm5, tiny eink display showing the image written to it
But it gets hot on that puppy
Not so much the voice puck
an esp32 can handle output to an eink display just fine
you can generate the imagine on another system then just send it over
Could it be showing me time left on my timer?
oh yes, that is probably it
did you have a long timer set or something?
Maybe? Playing with new toy
can tell it to "cancel timer" and see if it returns to normal
I will if it does it again, is it normal for the voice puck to refuse to play if no external speakers are connected?
