Not sure if this has already been posted before, but as a warning to anyone playing with IPv6.
Decided earier to change my HAOS from "Automatic" IPv6 to "Static" IPv6. All my Matter devices straight away dropped out of the Matter server. Fixed by changing back to "Automatic".
My assumption is that something changes with routing when on "Static"? Maybe it stops HA picking up the RAs from the TBRs? Didn't do any deeper digging as I just wanted my devices back, but worth noting if you start playing with network configs!

Yeah - it's most likely the case that setting IPv6 to "Static" stops HA from receiving RAs from the TBR, which means it no longer has routes to talk to the thread devices.

#

If you do want a fixed shorter ipv6 address for HA, I'd strongly recommend doing that by configuring a static lease in a DHCPv6 server

giving HA a static lease has nothing to do with android

android with a SLAAC address is perfectly capable of talking to ha on a DHCP address
