The Tuya integration tells me the Temperature and humidity sensor is "unsupported", but I've seen plenty of videos on Youtube of people using. What gives ?

#

For reference, a random vid of a guy using it on Home Assistant : https://youtu.be/Fum5Agz9p4o

the core tuya integration might not support it but there are other custom integrations on HACS that have different compatability

#

localtuya is pretty popular

#

but general advise is to avoid tuya if you can. nothing but trouble

Well off to try Localtuya we go

#

Btw is there so sort of integrations shop like there is for add ons ?

you want to install "HACS"

#

in the addon store there is "Get HACS" which makes it easy to get

Yeah okay looking at all the shit needed (and therefore, the insane number of ways this can go wrong) I'm indeed not gonna bother with Tyua bullshit

#

A company making stuff so insanely difficult to communicate with is not worth using anyway

yeah people get it because its cheap but there is a reason its cheap. avoiding it is the best policy 🙂
spend a little bit more and make life alot easier

What would you recommend instead ? This is the only one I could find that doesn't literally cost 30 bucks

it depends what type of connection you want. if you want it to be battery vs wired, if you want it to do other stuff

#

the temp/humidity stuff i use are multi purpose devices. i dont have any dedicated t/h stuff

#

I want some in order to have the temperature be set on the radiators according to the coldest part of the room

#

I don't care about the type of connexion as long as it doesn't involve external apps and whatever cloud stuff

#

Just zigbee or z wave is fine

i havent tried them personally but people speak highly of Sonoff stufff. maybe something like the SNZB-02P

if you're running z2m or zha, tuya zigbee humidity temp sensors should work
