Media player: Turn on before playing?

Hi there! I'm having an issue, where I'm trying to play Spotify content on my LG TV. For that I'm using https://github.com/thlucas1/homeassistantcomponent_spotifyplus , and all works well when I first press "turn on" on the media card and then play something, but when I simply try to play anything it doesn't automatically turn on the TV. Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks!
