Is there a way to blacklist the reolink doorbell from constantly saying there is an update when updates through HA don't actually work without doing it manually?

Just disable the firmware entity?

It will still do it's own auto update via the app or however it normally gets it updates?

#

Thanks was getting annoying

yeah, your just disabling home assistants ability to see and act upon the firmware status

There is no way to actually update via home assistant right?

some devices have the ability to trigger the firmware update from with within home assistant. however I dont know if reolink supports it. I have never seen it pop up for my reolink camera tbh

#

shelly devices for example can have the update triggered from within HA

I get a popup all the time for the reolink and it is a newer firmware than the app recognize, but it always fails, and says you can download the zip to install manually

do you have its network connection restricted perhaps?
my reolink is on auto update and i have never had an issue or seen anything pop up in HA

#

in any case you can hide it in HA. then you can either manually update it or if its working just leave it i guess

no restrictions I know of

maybe its just a bawked update process. maybe if you manually do it this time then future updates will fire automatically without issue?

ok now it is updating

#

I've tried it like 10 times in the past

#

not sure if disabling/enabling firmware unbroke it, but i was under the impression it was just impossible to update the firmware at thsis point via ha

#

and seemed to work.

So weird
