Hello!
For quite sometime i've had my instance of HA in a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4Gb RAM. All goes smooth for a while and then the Raspberry Pi starts acting weird losing internet connection with wired connection, this happened to me with longer instances with a few devices but also with just bone stock instances that were left sitting with nothing added.
Also i've had this happen in 2 different Rpi 4 bought with about 1 year difference from eachother.

I couldn't find any solution to this problem, just people with the same issue.

FYI: The Rpi is configured with a Static IP and atm is "disconnected" on the router page but i cant ssh into it and also ping 8.8.8.8 from it.
Any ideias?

Hi @shrewd sluice,
Is it your network switch, cable, or router?

this happened to me with longer instances with a few devices
i've had this happen in 2 different Rpi 4
If multiple pi's show the same problem, it's something else.

ive had it happen on one rpi4 that i had with klipper for the 3dprinters, i then bought another that started doing the same

It even shows that my Router has 3 out of 4 LAN ports in use which is correct (Rpi4, my PC and TV Box)

🤷‍♂️

The router is bad or mis-configured possibly.

#

What kind is it?

It’s a fiber gateway GR241AG

#

This only happens with Rpi4s no other devices suffer from this.

Buy a switch, and put it between.

It's 100% that box though in my opinion.
Personally I would never hook anything to an ISP box like that except the WAN port of my own device. I have 2 ISP boxes, both have my own device in front of them and my own WIFI devices.

For example, I’m at work and over 4G network. I connect home via VPN and I can check. The router says that Home Assistant is off-line, but if I open Home Assistant companion app, I can view live feeds from the cameras I can move the cameras I can activate buttons and switches and everything.

My gateway is .254, and all addresses from .64 to .253 are for DHCP, addresses from .1 to .63 are for Static entries.

I've set the HA to be Static .62 and the router recognized it even tough it was set manually and not on the Static Leases from the router. I've now set it up also for the static leases with MAC address gonna reboot everything and see.
(I have also changed my IP address for my desktop and added a Static Lease entry and its confirm to be Connected and Static) let's see if it works for the rasp.

@gusty kite it appears that may hav e fixed it

#

after assigning Static Leases entries and rebooting both Rpi4 and Router
