#How do I calculate export to grid/import from grid and make it work!!!!!

I just installed two SPM01 sensors, one at the output of my grid tied solar inverter and one inside my subpanel to monitor the house's usage.

So I used both of these sensors and created two template sensors, import_from_grid_daily and export_to_grid_daily. They work and show the accurate values of both import and export, but they act weird when I configure them as sensors in energy dashboard

The first image is my current config, both grid_sensor and solar_sensor are SPM01s and as you can see in the 2nd picture it works fine.

BUT, when I use the created template sensors (import_from_grid_daily and export_to_grid_daily) it all goes to S#1T (config in the 3rd pic and aftermath is 4th). I say that where does it get 10.7 from? my house only used 7.9 kw...

At the end, Im attaching pic of the created template sensors and the config.yml where i creted those sensors.

The setup I have rn kinda works, like it gives me net return etc, but it dosent calculate self-consumed solar etc. It would be nice if i could get them working too...

Where does it say 10.7. Do you mean 10.9?

10.9 = 6 + 11.6 - 6.7

ooh..... that makes sense!!

but my home usage is 7.9..... im not sure which sensor is off.... maybe something wrong with my calculation ;_;

Consumption is always calculated as grid in + solar produced - grid out.

hmm.... now its clear than the consumption is good based on the variables.... but its still inflated by 3.2 kw

i cant put my finger on which tbh.... in this equation if we reduce the grid import by 3.2, we get the ans we are looking for, but.....

How do you know your home only consumed 7.9?

You're probably better off trying to solve a single hour than solving an entire day.
You should have all the data available to you.

Utilize the csv export feature to get the raw data.
