VERY Long story short. My house is almost 100yrs old, the panel is Mr Burns old and like 6" more narrow than standard boxs now. Every slot has a double breaker in it, so the thing is PACKED! When I showed my electrician the Emporia Vue I had he laughed at me.
I REALLY only need the mains monitored so I can get the actual usage. Right now the power company claims our usage is nearly 2x from last year, and it's WAY off from what I'm tracking from the subpanels which include every major appliance/major power user in the house. Even if I doubled what I track it's still considerably higher. I need to get those mains monitored so I can track down what's going on and refute the power company with some actual data.
My hope is that I can put the clips on the mains and run the like outside the panel and cut a SMALL hole to the side of the panel for the connecting unit to live. I've seen some pretty small ones made.
I'd appreciate help finding the smallest options. Preferably something that's ready to install since I don't have a 3D printer or the ability to DIY much of it 😦
