Ping device_tracker through UI?

I have a few device trackers using the "ping" platform in my config file. I'd prefer to manage these in the UI instead. Is that possible?
If so, is there a clean way to migrate them over, or do I need to remove them from the config file first and then try to create new ones with the same ID?
