Hi, I'm looking for a camera system for my house. I live in EU (Italy), I'd like something that only works locally. Every camera should be connected with poe or rj45 + power cable.
I have HA on proxmox so I'd be able to install a NVR software with a container, that software should work with HA and should work fine with the cameras. It would be useful if the software would have an ai system that can work with HA with custom automations.

To sum up the features that the camera should have:

  • poe / rj45 + power
  • night vision
  • no external/remote server
  • good integration with nvr softwares
  • not too expensive (100/150 EUR max)
  • outdoors

Thanks

Maybe look at Reolink? Those are local and you can start off with a few of their cameras. I don't think you need the hub but not sure. I am currently repurposing my wyze v3 cams and flashing them with Thingino and connect to Frigate which either runs as a docker on a server or though HA.

But Riolink has a lot of POE options.

I'd switch if I haven't had this much investment already in these damn wyze cams... LOL

Ok thanks. With the poe model I just need a poe switch and a nvr software on my proxmox, right?

yes, or an poe injector. Frigate is a good for the NVR side of things.

If you use frigate or most other NVR systems, you can use any camera that has the ability to output an RTSP stream

That means you can mix and match manufacturers based on which specific cameras suit what you need rather than having to stick to one ecosystem for everything
