I have my Home Assistant in Mountain Time Zone and it is currently 3:45 pm here in Mountain Time, but if I ask "what time is it in ann arbor michigan?" the response is like this: "ann arbor is in the eastern time zone. therefore the time is the same as the time here, which is 3:45 pm."

seems like a problem with the prompt

This is just a limit of the LLM I think. I don't think it has the context to know what your timezone is, not sure that gets exposed in context. So it is probably hallucinating an answer as a result. You can try asking the LLM why it thinks that is the time to get a clearer picture of what is going on, but it is likely just a lack of context/information on its part.

Ah okay a hallucination... I thought when it said I provided a time zone, that somehow HA had provided my time zone. This makes sense thanks

i know if I go chatgpt.com and ask what time is it in ann arbor, it gives the correct response every time

You should be able to provide the time zone in the prompt

That just seems broken. Google AI gives the right answer

"How do you know that?" ask the LLM to explain itself 😉
