I used the Companion app's location and zoning features to do simple things like register notifications for security and disabling lights in my bedroom when I leave. It's worked fine for months now, but a week or two ago, it suddenly stopped getting accurate location data.
I do not know if this was following an update to the Home Assistant Android application; it updates a lot and I try to keep it updated when I can (manual updates only).
To be more specific, there's a large parking lot outside of my apartment complex (like, about 2-3 football fields in size), and my location is in a complex abutting it. For some reason, Home Assistant always thinks I'm within that large parking lot (generally in the same spot within it, too). Google Maps will also INITIALLY open to that location, but within fractions of a second, quickly 'lock on' to a more accurate location.
I searched online and documentation, and found information about a 'High Accuracy' mode, but it doesn't want to work all the time.
It seems to flicker on and off, I assume due to the expanded zone constraints as it enters the expanded zone, high accuracy mode activates, it notices it's within the home zone, and then it exits the expanded zone, high accuracy mode disables, and then it somehow thinks it's outside the home zone again?
I don't understand it.
