#None of my devices seem to connect succesfully

I'm trying to get a zigbee network going, but I seem to be having some trouble. I run HA in docker on a Raspberry Pi 4, installed a Sonoff with CC2652 on USB, passed it trough the container, and configured it in HA with ZHA. I have 3 devices which I would like to connect to start of with (the rest should follow, but these 3 should work at least) :

  • An Ikea Tradfri repeater, because the house is rather big, and the Raspberry Pi is in the basement. The repeater is located at the top of the stairs to the basement, approx. 5m from the USB Dongle with 1 floor in between. I reset the repeater by holding the reset button 5s, then do the "scan for devices", but nothing can be found.

  • A Frient smoke detector : I insert the battery / reset the device, search for devices, then I see it pop up, after a long time (1-5min) the interview is usually succesfull, but then it is stuck on "configuring", we're talking 20+min without a change, then I start over and again the same.

  • The VINDSTYRKA air quality sensor, I reset the device to put it into pairing, search for devices, sometimes something shows up, sometimes nothing shows up, but if it shows up, it never gets past the "interviewing" phase, even after 15+min.

Am I missing something? Or should it take even longer, and should I be more patient?

It sounds like you're having network interference problems. Some of the usual things to check - make sure the zigbee dongle is not plugged directly into (or beside) a USB 3.0 port, since those cause 2.4ghz interference - use a usb 2.0 extension cable to move it away. Make sure your zigbee device isn't too close to a wifi ap. check what channel your zigbee is on and make sure it doesn't get interference by nearby strong wifi 2.4ghz signals (there's some charts available that show the overlap between zigbee and wifi channels)
