#SSL issues with iOS Companion App

I haven’t been able to use the iOS app in a while because it doesn’t allow me to manually trust my self signed SSL certificate. I’ve tried installing the certificate on my local device and still nothing.

My setup is:
Accessing via internal IP using https. I have a self signed certificate for SSL.

Am I doing something wrong in terms of my SSL setup or is the companion app just missing a button that says trust this certificate?

I was just about to post the same thing - following.

iOS App doesn't support self signed certificates

If it's connecting to an internal site, we should have control over whether the cert is accepted or not

If you need to install a certificate on the iPhone the app won’t work, it doesn’t support client certificates. Only Android does

I mean I can use the browser on my phone, but that defeats having the app - granted the app will still send push notifications

I don’t know what to say, it’s just not supported right now :/

I have a free private CA on my network

You can access unsecure HA servers in iOS App, but untrusted SSL certificates will cause issues for sure. Not sure how it was before to you but nothing has change in this area for a while

Any reason you don't want to use Let's Encrypt?

There is a way but it's convoluted and may not even work depending on your home router. I only have my external IP in DNS and my home router does some destination NAT magic to make it work on the inside.

Of course there is always IPv6 if you have it available to you.

Would the internal/external network feature of the app work for you?

Why do you need a certificate if its only publicly accessible
