Hey, I have almost 60 Zigbee devices.. and some devices that are far from the coordinator keeps going offline, so I am thinking of getting a couple of slzb-06 to use as routers.

My question is, do I just pair them in their place and devices near them would automatically pair to them? Or do I have to manually re-pair the devices again and specify the slzb-06 to connect to?

Also, I might plug the slzb-06 near a network switch, would that cause interference? It’s all just wired internet, no 2.4Ghz sources.

Most devices should automatically find the router and connect through it if it helps their signal. Some devices like aqara devices typically won't change which device is connected to after initial pairing.

I would just add the router and see if that improves your connection and after like a week or so, if it doesn't you can go around reconnecting problem devices.

In ZHA you can see a visualization of which endpoint devices are connected to which routers by going to ZHA -> configure -> visualizations. And you can force devices to pair through routers by going to the device page of the router and selecting "add devices via this device"

no not really, my understanding is it should do that automatically, most devices at least

Are there other devices like aqara who stick to the device which they got paired to initially.. or are picky about the router brand?

Similar to how some aqara devices won’t connect to Tuya routers, only other aqara router or maybe Ikea Phillips bulbs

Any idea why my smlight shows reddish in the chart and all lines are dotted and point at it ?

red means offline, never seen dotted lines before but id guess that those other devices are trying to talk to the router-type device thats offline and cant

put the device in pairing mode and go like youre going to add a new device to zha, the device should pop up

Reset it you mean and reconnect it right?
