When are you seeing this? What are you doing when it happens?
simply being away from home, off the network
like now 😉 I can browse the NC address correctly in any browser, just not open the app
settings seem fine
(deleted a few unrelated posts regarding a power outage for thread sanity)
maybe its not app related but something odd in the network settings. check this example address that is shown when the cloud connection is off.
of course this is not a true address, but maybe the system does not update that address correctly when the cloud is actually turned on? The address is shown correctly on the Cloud settings page
this is still going on btw..
is this a local only issue?
what do you mean? it happens when disconnected from wifi and cloud connection is 'on'.
sorry, that wasnt exactly clear which is why i asked 😅
if its a nabu casa problem id post it #1284966439702499400 see if you get better answers
well, I dont think so. I can login to the NC account url at that time, just like I said in the opening post. It's only the app that is troublesome
@distant horizon Let's see if I can help, let me double check some information:
Can you currently on your browser access:
- Local URL
- HA Cloud URL
?
(Sorry to be repetitive, just setting a start point)
Any of those present any SSL warnings?
In the App, is the local/internal URL always working fine and the Home Assistant cloud never working?
Also please after reproducing the issue, export your companion app logs and submit here: https://forms.gle/Uoqz127Phx4mMTpS6
thanks!
ok, so NC connection is on now (it toggles based on presence). I can open local and NC url in a regular browser on dektop and Phone. I can not open the app, it presents the posted screen,
I'll submit the logs but the google doc wont save anything....
can I share via Dropbox? believe I managed... I really dislike the GD interface...
I was able to reproduce in a browser, I got the exact same screen as yours, but then I moved to 5G and retried and it succeeded, then reconnected to wifi and wasn’t able to reproduce anymore
In the app I wasn’t able to reproduce either
I have a hunch that this may be a HA Cloud bug, have you reach out to HA cloud support already?
Glad you could reproduce, at least a once.... and no I havent contacted HA CLoud support, because it only happens in the Companion App, and cloud connection itself is working as it should (well, in a regular browser, also on the phone btw).
could you make anything from the logs? anything that stands out
I'll check in a bit, I just requested access to the link you attached
granted 😉
I doubt there will be something useful there though, since I was able to reproduce on a browser it must be on the cloud/frontend side, can you just in companion app settings under your server name if the websocket says connected while you see the invalid url error?
So basically:
- Reproduce the issue
- Open companion App settings
- Tap your server name
- Check if websocket is connected
Yes I remember that it said it is connected
Ok then the logs won’t be helpful because all your credentials are fine, it’s something cached in the webview itself (like what happened to me in the browser).
Let’s try something:
companion app settings >> debugging >> clear frontend cache
Then you delete your server, delete the app, reboot your device and reinstall.
Sorry for these lot of steps but sometimes the network caching is a bit weird to get rid of
Ive reopened now and it works !
Fingers crossed this sticks ( and believe me, I had done all, except reinstalling)
I did update the app a few times while experiencing the issue, which apparently is not the same. On todays update version and all good so far
That’s very weird indeed, let me know if it reappears.
It’s back…
