Correct me if i'm wrong but android APP has a different behaviour than Chrome on PC.
I mean, on the PC, interface language and Assist are using the language settings of the user. That's what i am expecting.
but
On android, the interface is using the language setting of the user (i selected EN =>ok), but Assist is using the language of Andoid (in my case FR, my android settings ).
Is it normal ? I was expecting everything to be in EN as it it my user settings.
I realized that when using Assist. The dialog is inconsitent.
I was expecting everything in EN but the welcome message of assist is "Comment puis-je vous aider" (FR).
If i say "Quelle heure est-il actuellement, merci ?":

  • speach to text is translating my question in EN ("What time is it currently? Thank you") (???? Why in English now? Welcome message was in FR, my question was in FR too, I didn't expected any kind of translation... πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ????)
  • LLM response is.... in English: " time: 11:42:23", using TTS in EN with accent πŸ˜‰ ... but which one? user settings now? LLM settings? TTS settings? LLM automatic language detection?
    That's confusing.

Given that I have to test:

  • PC / Android
  • OS language ( EN / FR )
  • HA user settings ( EN / FR)
  • Assist Language ( EN / FR )
  • Question source ( text / speach)
  • Question language ( EN / FR )
    => 2^6 => 64 combinations to be tested/validated

Really depends on how it was configured the app has it's own language setting independent of the server
