When you open the app, you can leave it anymore, not by swiping up from the bottom or pressing any case. The only way to get the app to push the reset button sequence on the iPad.
This is nuisance this update.
Deleting the app and reinstalling it did not solve the problem.
It still works fine on iPhone

In theory you could enable "Apple kiosk mode" somehow. It should work approximately as you described.
