#Opinion: new locks Zwave or Zigbee

Interesting, how often do you go in and out? I have a kwickset zwave lock and I have to change it's batteries every 6 months maybe, going out twice a day maybe for dog walks etc.
It is 4xAA batteries for reference too
I have to change my zwave lock batteries once a year. It depends on how strong your zwave network is.
4xAA, maybe on avg 10 locks-unlocks remotely or by keypad where motor turns the lock, and 25 lock-unlock by hand where it would have to transmit status and user that unlocked it etc. Also it sends the locked and unlocked status, but I have to poll it 3 sec later by automation to get the user code used as it never sends it on its own. I do use Li rechargeable that I know do not last as long as single use.
Also a Kwickset
I have 21 other powered devices on that network but I have two large cinderblock chimeys that cast an EM "Shadow". There is no good direct line back to controller it needs one or two hops
SO you are happy with yours and would do the same again if you got a new one?
I think we have the same lock but I have a Zigbee module in mine😅
Pretty happy with it, it has one annoying bug where if the deadbolt isn't 100% in place, it won't mark the door as locked, which means I get a notification that it's unlocked despite that not really being the case
