I just bought 2x door/window sensors and 2x vibration sensors from 3rd reality.

All 4 sensors are zigbee, connected to home assistant with ZHA and a zbt-1 coordinator.

3 out of 4 are working excellent and are all further away than the 4th. The 4th, a door/window sensor located on the door to the ha server/media closet (1 ft from the coordinator), is not. It is absolutely burning through batteries. In the maybe two weeks I’ve had these sensors I’ve had to replace the batteries on #4 every 1-3 days. The other 3 sensors are on their first set (which I’d expect).

Any thoughts on how/what I can troubleshoot? I’ve had this issue with zwave if my mesh wasn’t strong, but due to the proximity to the zigbee coordinator in this case I have a hard time believing this would be the problem.

Is the door usually open or usually closed?

Nearly always closed. Probably open a max of 10 minutes/day

I'm thinking defective in any case, but those things use slightly more battery when open usually. Not that much more though.

Thanks! I'll reach out to their support and see what they say. I'm expecting an exchange, but if they suggest a config change I'll report back here to close the loop.
