#Voice PE Cannot Upgrade after taking control
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
You'll have to re-flash PE, and then adopt it again AFAIK
aic3204 isn't in that repo anymore, it moved to main ESPHome repo. Also there's a lot of changes to the media player and LED.
seems the error is just with the reference to the link on git
geez. sounds like a pain in the ass. is there a link to the new yaml i can just paste in
I was just able to go back to referencing the dev tip of that YAML and it worked for me
this, which was updated today: https://github.com/esphome/home-assistant-voice-pe/blob/dev/home-assistant-voice.yaml
thanks. i cant even remember what change it was i did in the yaml lol. something for an external media player lol
My individual device configs just specify the name and wifi credentials after pointing to that package
speaking of does the new update allow external media players?
Yup that's how you're building that correctly from scratch.
No.
well damn. is it something i should even update then?
Well it's huge quality of life improvements, but there's no new features. Stability (media player and LED) is increased.
how could led be improved lol
unless it behaves differently?
thats a first now it says it has to be flashed over usb

ERROR Error binary size: Error: The OTA partition on the ESP is too small. ESPHome needs to resize this partition, please flash over USB.
There were animation glitches
Ive avoided taking control of all the voice devices because of this problem.
