probably? but you still have more work to do. You should add the "thread" integration which has been detected and follow the instructions in https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread#case-1-making-home-assistant-your-first-thread-network (start at step 2, you've already done step 1)

Home Assistant

Open source home automation that puts local control and privacy first. Powered by a worldwide community of tinkerers and DIY enthusiasts. Perfect to run on a Raspberry Pi or a local server.

I cannot seem to get my level matter bolt added ?

How close is the lock to your home assistant machine? Also, do you have any thread (homekit?) devices connected to apple home?

#

it might make sense to either join your home assistant to the apple thread network - or even use the apple thread network and not bother with the zbt-1 thread - in order to have a single thread mesh which might reach the location of the lock better.

#

but for better support - please say exactly what process you followed when attempting to pair, using what type of mobile device, and at what step you hit an error, and what the error said.

Ok, I just started all over.

#

I cannot add the lock with the qr code provided

this might be my issue

This is my log for open thread border router. [W] DuaManager-.

i'm not sure why you went and "started all over"?

#

it looks like your phone is now confused because you had credentials for the old thread network loaded, but now you've created a new one.

#

you'll need to re-do the steps to install the thread network credentials from home assistant into your phone.

This is my current setup. And I still cannot add a matter device. I have tried both a level lock and a evo matter smart plug and I cannot add matter devices.

... how many times have you re-created your thread network? stop doing that, it's just making things harder to figure out and might be causing more problems.

#

I have no idea how to clean those up from ios phones.

#

in order for this to work, your phone needs to have the credentials for your thread network loaded (in your most recent round of screenshots, that would be ha-thread-5aae, which looks like it's present), then your phone has to be able to discover and talk to your thread border router as part of the provisioning process, which in general means the phone has to be able to make mdns queries which are answered by the thread border router, and receive ipv6 router announcements from the thread border router

#

i don't think you've said anything about what your house networking looks like - what kind of router or wireless access points? are you using vlans for anything?

I finally found my issues

https://community.ui.com/questions/Having-new-issue-with-connecting-Matter-devices-over-thread-with-Home-Assistant-on-RaspPi-on-a-VLAN/02b3eb0f-1d60-4994-8866-9915413c4a32?page=3

Here are the options I have set:

Multicast Enhancement is off for all WiFi networks.
mDNS is on for all VLANs.
IGMP Snooping is on for all VLANs (although this doesn't seem necessary).
Forward Unknown Multicast Traffic is on for all VLANs.
Fast Leave is off for all VLAN

Changed my settings and I am now able to add matter devices

Ah, Unifi equipment. I should have asked you for information about your network earlier; people using unifi stuff is a very common reason that people run into issues with matter

hexed agate
#

I can only only pick either matter or zigbee for Zbt 1 right?

#

the multi-protocol firmware was problematic and is no longer being developed iirc, you should not use it.

#

better to have separate radios for each protocol

got it and thank you

I'm in the same boat as @hexed agate ... I cannot get my Matter devices to connect to HA. They're doing fine on HomeKit.

#

Regarding these options:

Multicast Enhancement is off for all WiFi networks.
mDNS is on for all VLANs.
IGMP Snooping is on for all VLANs (although this doesn't seem necessary).
Forward Unknown Multicast Traffic is on for all VLANs.
Fast Leave is off for all VLAN

Thiese are all related to the UNFI network and UNFI Wireless devices. My understanding is that Thread has its own network. I'm using a SLZB-06Mg24 in Matter-over-hread mode. Everything appears to be set up properly in HA. The Matter Server add-on is talking to the SLZB-06Mg24 through the OpenThread Border Router add-on.

I've joined it to my existing Thread network made up of apple devices... I used my iPhone to get the credentials... Not sure what else to do.

Finally figured it out. Joined my existing thread network...

I'm having the same issue as bradhs with Unifi and Home Assistant connecting to the ZBT1.
The process stops right after commissioning, when it's trying to set up the network device.
It times out and fails after a few minutes.
I’ve tried using your Unifi settings, but unfortunately they didn’t help in my case.
The device I'm trying to connect is an Aqara LED Bulb T2 (Thread version).
Grateful for any help !

@verbal linden would be better to start a new discord thread (heh) for your issue, dealing with multiple separate support requests in one thread is confusing.
