How do I get remote to start an automation?

I am trying to get an RF remote to work as a smart remote because it's cheaper and less complicated for an elderly person to use an already existing remote over some new smart remote for lights.

I have the linknlink 5 in 1 hub set up locally and have learnt the commands but I can't figure out how I have remote as a When, it's only in Then do

Use an entity trigger, find the remote command name that you are sending to the device and use a state trigger. That's it, no from:, to:, or for: all empty.
then any change of that command will trigger the Then_do.
