#Google Home Integration Failing To Connect
18 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
did you check the troubleshooting section on the integration page.
https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_assistant/
Yeah, I did, but I didn't find anything that fixed the issue unfortunately
I had a hard time getting it to work at the beginning, but I followed the steps to the letter and for it to work. eventually.. I'm using let's encrypt and nginx add-ons in combination with Cloudflare tunnel this sees to work great. did you make sure you have valid SSL certificates.
(Prerequisites
To use Google Assistant, your Home Assistant configuration has to be externally accessible with a hostname and SSL certificate.)
There's a whole section on that error here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_assistant/#404-errors-on-request-sync
If it's your first time integrating it, one of the steps was likely misfollowed. What version of HA are you running?
Thanks, I'll take a look at that when I'm back with my computer.
I have integrated it before, in fact I was just redoing it because it seemed to have broken itself. I'm running the latest version of HA in a docker container (or, at least, the latest version as of last Saturday - I can't check right now!)
I will go through the steps again when I get the chance.
So I set up the integration again only to find the same issue occurred again.
Nothing is appearing in HA logs as far as I can see, though.
I made a new project, new ID and all, and followed the steps to the letter
This is the error I'm getting when I try to connect
I get to the page where it asks me to log in to HA, I log in, then it does that
oh my god... i feel like such an idiot... cloudflare was blocking the requests
I had 'block bots' on
🤦♂️
