I unfortunately purchased several EP25 smart plugs with newer firmware revisions (2.x) that now require cloud authentication to "unlock" LAN only mode (ironic). I was able to perform this unlock through the TP Link HA integration so I can use them without internet, however I am worried if I have to ever reset or uninstall these from Home Assistant and re-pair them on my network, I will have to perform this cloud process again (requiring internet again). Anyone with experience on this?
#TP-Link Smart Plugs on new EP25 firmware: is the LAN access cloud authentication unlock permanent?

Context (from integration docs): "Some firmware versions of Tapo Cameras will not authenticate unless you enable Tapo Lab > Third-Party Compatibility in the native Tapo app. Alternatively, you can factory reset and then prevent the device from accessing the internet."
Since that change above went into effect with the later firmware, Home Assistant asks me to authenticate with their cloud service, which I did not have to do with the earlier firmware revision hardware.
