#Can't get started with Google Drive as a Backup location (2025.2)

(I've searched here and on the Forums and can't find an answer.)
I'd like to use the new 2025.2 backup to Google Drive option. I have installed Google Drive add-on and made new credentials for it. Clicking on 'ADD SERVICE', after going through some URL setting and authorisation screens says "Service is already registered". This is how it looks in HA.

When I go to backup LOCATION settings, I have the expected local one, but no way I can see of adding another one. Help!

@edgy flicker didn't you fix this, or was that only for OneDrive?

@sharp folio That should have been fixed for both (at least the problem from the beta)

Interesting

Can you do a restart?

#

Or double check the logs if you see anything

Thanks. A simple restart did the trick, making GDrive appear as a possible backup location. Perhaps the docs could be updated to say this is probably needed?

It's a bug so ideally it should be fixed

But this is the only report I've seen so far, so maybe it's a fluke

Actually, I'm now re-opening this.
The backup appears to work to GDrive, but after waiting 30 minutes it's still not showing up anywhere I can find in 'My Drive' on 2x Macs on the same network. And the GDrive integration doesn't have any way of setting what path it's using.

Search for the home assistant folder in Google Drive. Or remove the integration, without removing the application credentials, and re-add it. In the success message it will give you a link to the folder.
