Just wanted to shout out to @grave spear and the HA team for really maturing the Thread/Matter stack. Since the SDK was bumped to 1.4 a little while back, my 64 Thread/Matter devices have been super stable. I checked the Matter logs today, and except for one tiny 30 second blip for one device (expected), over the past 5 days the Matter logs are completely free of ANY hiccups. I'm using two Apple TV 4Ks on tvOS 18.3 as my Thread Border routers.
#Thread/Matter is now super stable!

This is great to see! I'm curious to understand better what changes made the difference for you. Was the only change you made upgrading the HA side to Matter 1.4 SDK?
I think 18.3 also bumped the thread spec version to 1.3 on tvos and homepodOS from apples side. based off what I see with the Discovery app - _meshcop._udp - tv = 1.3.0 for all
You are a bit late to the party. Apple supports thread version 1.3.0 since may 2023. ๐
I think this is a combination of factors. tvOS 18.3 seems to have brought a lot of stability fixes but also every SDK bump comes with bugfixes. In general it seems indeed more stable than before (I can confirm this on my own apple based prod setup) but we still have a lot of cases of users running into trouble, often related to vague issues at the networking level.
