I'm trying to move devices from Smartthings to my HA setup. All was going well enough, but 2 days ago a Zwave lightswitch just became unavailable. If I restart HA, or the Unraid server it's running on, everything connects, but then it immediately becomes unavailable. I've enabled debug logging and it's not telling me much. I'm kind of at a loss. I had a similar problem with my monoprice whole home audio which seems to have resolved itself by using a new USB to serial adapter.

Should I try a new ZWave adapter? I'm using a HUSBZB-1 which I saw recommended for use.

Is it a bad idea to run it as a VM in Unraid?

I've been at this for awhile and it's quite frustrating. It all seems quite opaque, and so far it's been very unreliable. Other people seem to have much better experiences, so I'm kind of wondering what I'm doing wrong...

When the device is dead the entities are unavailable. Start with https://zwave-js.github.io/node-zwave-js/#/troubleshooting/first-steps.

If you are just coming from SmartThings, I hope you did not newly purchase the HUSBZB-1. It's a 10 year old product, extremely outdated (that said, should still function).

I just got a Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range S2 to replace it. Do you have an opinion on if that's a worthwhile replacement?
