I have my Voice PE working with the OpenAI as fallback fine for a couple of weeks now. But after upgrading to 2025.2 and calling assist_satellite.start_conversation the list of entities is coming up empty.
Docs say you have to have a a supported conversation agent which I do

Any ideas?

it's only implemented in VOIP satellites for now (e.g.g an old landline phone connected to a Grandstream). it does not work with ESPHome satellites, but my best guess is that it soon will

it's not a limitation, it's a missing implementation which will happen very soon

Seems it was implemented in the ESPHome firmware last night, but I think it isn't yet enabled in HA Core, looks like that will be in the next release based on what shows up in the dev branch 🙂

Actually I may be incorrect on the above, I think recent firmware added support for continue conversation, not start conversation.

#

But that also is not yet released, think it is only in the nightly builds for HA.

Sorry to revive this post but now that it provides this with 2025.4, how can i see there all my other Atom Echos? Only the voice PE shows

don't think the feature is supported by anything other than the Voice PE

#

Could check in the ESPHome discord and see if they are moving that over yet

From what I can tell on the 2025.4 patch notes reads regarding start conversation
“After this release, this feature is now available for ESPHome based voice assistants…”
