Hi. Got my new Yellow today with CM5 with eMMC (no NVMe). Followed setup instructions and got stuck running rpiboot: it doesn't. I powered up as instructed and shows solid red light. When I unplug and re-plug power the light is solid green and rpiboot keep waiting for "BCM2835 etc". I am using a USB 3.0 cable to my PC and made sure the jumper is on USB. Please help. Thanks!!!

Was the USB-C Recovery button held down when you did this?

You should see it go from "waiting for BCM2835" to becoming active and then some new lines appear when you do that. Shortly after this your system should pop up some notification about the drive which you can then ignore

@grave crypt Thanks for replying. I just found out that what you said is the trick myself. So the Getting started manual is a bit off here. I should say run rpiboot and then recovery button + power. Not other way around. But thanks anyway.

Technically, the order should really not matter: The SoC goes into recovery mode and enumarates as a USB device towards the computer. The document ordered definitly worked here just fine. The computer then can communicate with the device whenever it wants. What Operating System are you running?

Hm, ok, maybe this is a macOS specific behavior of rpiboot 🤔 @ember hollow were you using MacOS too? 🤔
