Any recommendations for a home assistant control panel display for my desk?
Been trying the ESP32 Screens, but they dont work the way i would like
Both projects i tried, a 3.4inch screen and 7 inch screen does not work perfectly, as i want them to always pull the current state/status of a switch, etc. As with my testing, the button on the display would display the on status when i turned it off via the homeassistant dashboard.

im late to the party but isnt a always on tablet with a cable probably dangerouc bc of fires? like you shouldnt charge at night and having a charger in at all times seems fishy to me

As the HA app in the tablet provides the battery percentage, you can automate with a smartplug the battery loading. I'm using that in a different device, the Ulanzi TC001. When the battery is below 40%, smartplug on. When battery is above 90%, smartplug off. You can switch it off always by night, for example 😉

Thats true. And with HA being the only thing running on low brightness I doubt the battery dies so often. Perhaps it'll charge once every 2-3 days which is very fine

do you know if its a massive hassle to set up a stream deck as a control centre?

I see I see. I just want a panel at my gaming desk to switch scened and turn for exmaple led lights on and off without having to use my phone or tab out of the game :)

What's your current setup? Like, I think this should be possible to turn into something workable. Assuming you're using ESPhome, you could try having a binary entity on the screen for the switch (distinct of the switch itself) and add an automation that pushes to this state when the light is turned on/off
