toxic merlin
Hello guys,
my icmp integration is driving me crazy and I hope someone can help me here.
I use 2 smartphones and a Windows device without problems, but a second windows device just does not want as I want.
My working icmp integrations are listed as 1 device with 5 entities. But the new device will only ever get listed as 1 device and 2 entities (which seems to be an indicator that something is wrong).
In a german home assistant forum we ruled out firewall and network problems. I also deleted and recreated the device ping several times, also with different IPs.
A fellow tinkerer in the german forum tried to reproduce my issue and said that he is getting the same problem if the device is offline while creating the ping integration.
So the assumption is that somehow the ICMP integration seems to save or buffer some corrupt data? Has someone had a similar problem and can help me out? Do I need to open a bug report or something if not?
