#What would be the best integrations to try for a newbie?

I am a newbie and was quite excited to buy a home assistant. I tried the following and most dint work or dint give me any additional benefit by connecting to home assistant. While I understand there are many more options : I am looking for suggestions or some ideas.

Tried the following:

  1. Ecobee - no API access/so lets me do basic controls only
  2. Blink cameras - no live access
  3. Couldn’t connect either my energy or gas companies (I am based in Leander, Texas) and looks like PEC (electricity provider) and Atmos (gas) cannot be connected to HA

I would like to buy new devices - but would like to buy those that can be fully integrated with HA. Looking forward to some suggestions or posts or YouTube channels/videos showing this.
