I have my Aqara U200 added to HomeKit via matter. I have used the share code to try and add to home assistant and just will not pair.

Every 30 seconds or so my matter server logs are producing an error which reads:

WARNING [chip.ChipDeviceCtrl] Failed to establish secure session to device: src/controller/python/ChipDeviceController-ScriptDevicePairingDelegate.cpp:96: CHIP Error 0x00000003: Incorrect state
2025-01-29 20:05:00.274 (MainThread) ERROR [matter_server.server.client_handler] [547490600800] Error while handling: commission_with_code: Commission with code failed for node 4.

Incorrect state is a bit of a global error which is raised when:

  • There is something wrong on the networking level (e.g. IPv6 not enabled on the network interface)

  • There is something failing on the device itself, for example if the device already has a registration for the Home Assistant "farbric" stored in its memory and you try to add it again.

Did you completely factory reset the lock ?

#

If I'm not mistaken you need to hold to buttons on the keypad and confirm with a fingerprint or code to reset it.

#

Then add it to the aqara pp using the aqara code

#

Once its added to tha aqara app and you have setup the calibration etc. you can press the setup button once to put it in matter commisisoning mode (it should beep once) - then open the HA app and commission it by scanning the matter QR code
