Is there a zigbee or wifi sensor that just simply reacts to closing opening circuit (wire connection)?

Thanks 😉

Esphome can have a switch input defined easily for WiFi
If you just don't plug in an output to a standard zigbee/WiFi smart relay it will still monitor the switch state
Think those are probably the 2 easiest ways

TBH., I did not understand the answer plus I would love something water resistant (like ip5x or ip6x)... But thanks. 😉

IP5X and IP6X are dust resistant not water resistant - the second digit is water.
What you are asking for doesn't exist. You will have to diy it and put it in a IPX5/6 box

I thought you had an answer or I would have added a dentense to the community post for you.. That moisture sensor would work or a door/window sensor with the reed switch removed also works but the second one is expecting the state to be closed to save battery and open when things happen. The moisture type is normally open, then closed on an action.
