#roborock going crazy at night

Hey guys, 2 days ago i added my Roborock QRevo to HA via the official Roborock integration. I have a couple automations, mostly connected to buttons around the house, to start room cleanings. Everything works perfectly.

Now to my problem though... both nights we had Rocky in HA so far, at ~03.35 at night, he goes crazy. Every entity becomes unavailable for a short time, then comes back online and Rocky starts mopping the whole house lol

#

obviously i have 0 automations that do anything in the middle of the night and the logbook also shows no automation triggered or anything. just at 03:33 all of a sudden "became unavailable" and then triggering all these status changes

rocky did the same thing again tonight at 03.33am on the dot, just like the other days. every entity becomes unavailable for 2min and then fires back up and rocky starts mopping the house

#

i really need help with this lol

#

do you have some kind of auto reboot on the qrevo?

steady pollen
#

no it doesnt have a feature like that

tawny raptor
#

hmmm. Maybe an accidental reboot scheduled on ha?

#

I know a lot of smart lightbulbs turn on on full brightness when they lose an internet connection

steady pollen
#

no, i even looked, the cleaning it starts at 03.35 is not invoked by any script or automation

#

nothing is triggered

#

my router also reboots once a week, fridays at 05am

tawny raptor
#

maybe there is some kind of firmware bug? Is there a newer version available?

steady pollen
#

no its running the latest

tawny raptor
#

looks like rocky needs some alone time to disconnect and find themself again

#

lol

steady pollen
#

hahaha indeed

#

i would be ok with that if he just needs to cycle through all entities restarting

#

but why tf does he start mopping

tawny raptor
#

he finds fulfillment in having a duty and purpose lmao

steady pollen
#

and it has to be some kinda weird schedule shit becaues its 03.33 on the dot

#

but he never did that before HA

#

so theres a clue

tawny raptor
#

it might be a roborock thing to auto reboot around 3am

steady pollen
#

and then HA just sends him to clean randomly?

#

lol

#

without invoking any script or automation

tawny raptor
#

was he busy finding himself before HA was introduced?

steady pollen
#

no he hasnt done this before HA ever. we have had him almost a year

#

i would be happy to have a script that just disables roborock integration at 03.30 and enables it again at 03.40 lol

tawny raptor
#

there is a third-party roborock integration that looks fairly reputable which might solve your problem. However, as with any third party software, use at your own risk

steady pollen
#

i was hoping to avoid that, yeah

#

ill see if i can find a different solution first

tawny raptor
#

we'll see if we can find anything else

#

try turning on dnd during the night

#

it might be that it is cleaning during the day, and finishing charging at night and going back to clean some more

steady pollen
#

nah its always charging right away as we dont have a night-time electricity price

#

he also does this when there was no cleaning at all the day before

#

can i disable a device in HA on a schedule

#

i would just disable the device from 3.30 to 3.40

void cipher
#

The robot is “rebooting” at 3:33 is quite normal for Xaiomi so it is a default init for this kind of robots. The dnd is of course a good idea

steady pollen
#

ok i have put DND mode on now from midnight til 6am. will report back tomorrow lol

#

doesnt say anything about actual cleaning though. i hope its just implied

steady pollen
#

i think it worked!!! it did the whole reboot dance but stayed in his dock quietly

#

thanks guys
