Hello there - Is there a way to add the Zigbee install code to HA? Or is there a way to scan the QR code and commission the devices? I'm using ZHA integration.

You have to manually run the zha.permit action: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha/#action-zhapermit

Just to confirm - do I always need to add the install codes to the HA for each new devices? Will it be same for all vendors?

There are maybe twenty devices on the market that even have install codes

#

And maybe three that require them to be used

#

You almost never need to use them

Zigbee joining is insecure and exposes your network key to anybody listening nearby (only when a new device actually joins)

Install codes are used to "fix" this problem

Ah, so only the devices with pre-defined install codes will be able to join the network?
