#Shelly EM Gen 3 add to Grid Consumption

It's expected. You need an energy sensor for the energy dashboard. Shelly probably provides that one as well.
That odd because that's what that device is for, I guess I need the older generation one
They have the older version, that works, at least I have one installed in other house

and the new version that don't work for grid consumption

Check if it has a disabled sensor by default. If device doesn't report energy you could easily create it with a riemann sum helper.
in the Selly app it reports, and in the sensor in the integration too, the problem is the device_class that is classified as power
and from the Home Assistant documentation, only device_class: energy sensors are available for Grid Consumption
That shouldn't happen for energy sensors
Can you show which entities your device has available?
Sure, here it goes
From what I read in the documentation, the problem is here
at some point says
"device_class must be energy for electricity grid, solar, or battery categories. It must be gas for gas, or water for water."
it is device_class: power
the older version Shelly EM, is slightly different
it has a device_class: energy sensor
you need to enable the EM energy sensors. Click on 'EM0 total active energy' for example
yes, those are power sensors, with unit W. The energy dashboard needs energy sensors, with unit kWh or Wh
this entity is not available, probably I need to enable somewhere in the Shelly App
does it say 'This entity is disabled.' ?
yes
click enable
it worked!
Thank you very much
I don't know why is not enabled by default
I will replace the old one with the Gen 3, thanks!!!
yeah that's something the integration sets by default, not sure why it disables it
