Hey Guys! After searching here and the online forum, I still have no clue;

I use an unraid machine to run a HAOS VM with a connected Sky Connect Stick.
Followed the tutorial to setup the stick as Thread-only Router and in the integrations "Thread" and "Open Thread Border Router" the Sky Connect Stick is available.
But as soon as I want to add a matter device, I get the error "Your Device needs a Thread-Border-Router"...
Tried a few times to start from skretch, but the outcome is everytime the same.
I try to add a Bosch thermostat.
Of course the Open Thread Border Router and the Matter Server Addon running.

You need to sync the thread credentials to your phone. See the documentation

after month [!] of troubleshooting I finally found that I need to sync the thread credentials to my companion app.
(Thought, that my previously used nesthub2 was the problem. but it wasn't. now its out of the setup and skyconnect has fully taken over)
Is there a way, to make that process easier for the "regular user"? that's really not obvious. A hint would be great.

I already taught that, because of the helper. A hint to the docs, when I tried adding my first matter over thread device would have been helpful, at least for me. 😇
Thank you for your work. 😘 This feels only "complicated", because you made the other things so easy to use for us users.

Yeah, it was like that but it slowed down the app startup and some user didnt like the fact that it silently write the creds so we removed it for now, awaiting a final/better solution. It needs an overhaul of the apps to do it right but at the same time you cant get it right anyways. For example Google wont let you update the creds at all or set a new default network. On iOS the flow works differently and there the default thread network is passed along when commissioning.
