I have an odd use case, I have elderly grandparents who retired abroad about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, one of them passed away last year and the family are worried about my grandmother being there alone. Without going into details, she isn't going to be coming back any time soon.
The family have been looking of way to make sure shes ok and after other suggestions, one suggestion was maybe to use an Aqara presence sensor. I've only ever used these in conjunction with home assistant, but, I have a feeling they can work standalone with just the app? Is anyone able to confirm this?
We're thinking that the presence sensor could be a good way just to detect that someone is there and moving around without being overly intrusive. Open to other ideas if anyone has anyway, I imagine this is probably a good place for ideas.
