adding, these are those built-in buttons that are designed to learn a standalone remote's codes
US-gdo interceptor
So I have a ford mustang that has the garage door opener in the visor and I have the RATGDO unit on the garage door. I have the radio link from the garage door opener linked to the garage door itself by using its on-board "record / playback" function..
So, I was thinking maybe if you want to be able to send signals to HAOS you would need to find someother kind of radio xmit/receiver that you can then "copy" into the GDO in the car..? 🤔
another option would be to add an SDR to your hAOS and then see if you can "see" the signal from your visor buttons.. but I don't know if they "send" anything unelss u program them first with what it is u want them to send when pressed... but I don't know that for sure
I recall seeing a thread at one time or another on reddit that explored using the buttons int he visor.. lemme look
that link showed as purple so I am thinking it was the one I saw before 😄
all that said, if you have the ford sync system or other type of dashboard touch screen that links to your phone, it may be possible to just have touchscreen control of home assistant via that. I know ford sync has a home assistant app and I can put buttons on my touchscreen of the car when I am connected to android auto
whelp. I tried ¯_(ツ)_/¯
