My brand new VoicePE is not responding to any voice command and it's not playing any sound at all. I've tried different plugs and different cables. I've tried to take control of the device from ESPHome to see logs, and also restored firmware as specified in docs.

From this web I can download logs: https://esphome.github.io/home-assistant-voice-pe/
And these are the errors I can see:

Do you think it is a hardware failure?

I've tried to replicate this and it does look most likely that it is a hardware failure. It sounds like you have carried out any steps that you can and will possibly need to organise a replacement. I would drop an email to voice-pe@home-assistant.io to see if they can offer any further advice.

cedar tide is the light ring behaving normally?

Yes, white ring at the beginning and blue later. I can change volume using the wheel and button also works, but I doesn't recognise any word and it doesn't say anything.

cedar tide I've tried to replicate this and it does look most likely that it is a hardware ...

I did it yesterday, but not sure if the account is attended. I guess it is and I just need to be patient.

The account is attended! They asked me to reinstall the firmware from bootloader mode. After doing it, I have the same problem. It's like there is no speaker nor microphone on the device. I connected the device here https://esphome.github.io/home-assistant-voice-pe/ , downloaded logs and sent to them. Let's see if they have any other idea.

One error I found in the logs tells me that something is going bad:
[E][i2c.idf:289]: Recovery failed: SCL is held LOW on the I2C bus

@hollow iron you should reach out to the vendor it was ordered from for a replacement. That's a hardware issue. Same for @quiet wasp if it is the same logs
