#How to learn and control 433mhz devices (roller shutters) with home assistant?

You probably want the broadlink rm4 pro
Any alternatives @mellow arch ? I had this device before but it was very unstable.
what do you mean instable? it would loose the connection? or not do the action you want ?
The Bond Bridge works well for me.
The bond bridge, but I had that and will not recommend it to anyone
My Somfy shades use the same frequency, but I’m not sure if this is compatible. I use this and it’s great: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/esp-somfy-rts-integration/543401
I have created a Somfy RTS integration that uses an ESP32 and a CC1101 transceiver that is readily available. The radio range is excellent, it supports up to 32 covers per device, and it links your existing Somfy remotes to keep the shade positions and tilt in sync, and it supports the My positions set from your remotes. The configuration is s...
Why are you not a fan?
Lose connection and have trouble learning rf commands
It was a device that every day/few days wanted attention from me.
Rf in general is awful. Not being able to get true states back from devices means you have to visually confirm that HA is actually controlling things as you want. Which is not ideal.
I found the bond bridge to be completely unreliable, as in 50/50 shot of whether a device would be correctly controlled or not. Not ideal and incredibly frustrating.
i can imagine, but thats the only (shitty) way the roller shades work at the house we bought.
nothing to control them on a wall or something. just a remote control.
I mean if you're set on using the existing shades, go with the cheaper of the bond and the broadlink. But I'd focus on replacing the shades with something zwave or matter.
I've not used the broadlink, but FWIW I've not encounteted the issues with the Bond Bridge that Ender is describing. Pairing to the Somfy blinds is very simple if you have the remote. I ran in to a little trouble with my automatiosn (Adaptive Cover) trying to send commands to all of my shades at once, but I was able to group my living room shades to cut down on the commands that needed to be sent and I also added a slight delay to the commands that's configurable if you use the beta firmware.
Getting the shades calibrated also is imperfect (mine take longer to go up than down), but I can hit 50% open within a few inches.
They are 2 years old and new so yeah i dont want to replace them. I will see if i can open one up and see what brand it is.
Hi 👋 everyone!
I don't want to hijack the thread, but I want to do the exact same thing, but with Broadlink RM4 Pro.
I am having issues make the learn_command work! Even though I believe to having followed carefully the instructions!
here is my learn_command for controller a roller blind that works with a remote on 433Mhz frequency range! --> https://hastebin.com/share/roxofeluqi.yaml
the /config/.storage/broadlink_remote_xxx file is not even created!
When I click on the "Perform Action" button, the Broadlink controller LED turns to red/amber, I receive an HA notification as well .... but still, nothing really effective for taking into account my learning
For info, "office_roller_blind" does not exist. I assume it it supposed to be created automatically by the learning process, wrong?
Ok, i see this error now https://hastebin.com/share/bomikutube.yaml
found a device called RFX433XL USB. it should be able to do this all, and has a native home assistant integration.
