So I setup HA in my new home and got an Ecobee thermostat setup. I really enjoyed using Ecobee in my previous home. When I went to go setup the integration in HA, I of course found that the Ecobee integration is broken due to API keys being unavailable. What I have found is that adding the thermostat as a HomeKit device via HomeKit Controller is what's recommended. However, when I try to add a HomeKit device, HA says it can't find any unpaired devices.

The Ecobee is on the same network as the HA host.

Do you have the ecobee in HK pairing mode? It should display the 8-digit code on the screen.
