Hey yall, i got this ikea vallhorn zigbee motion sensor and it paired fine, but it will not update for the life of me. the luminance will for the most part but the detection of motion will not update.

I had the same problem with mine. Taking the battery out for a few minutes and restarting it fixed it for me. Been fine since.

Are you running with rechargeable batteries or regular? I've seen discussions elsewhere that say these perform strange if they aren't using rechargeables.

I’m using an Amazon Basics AAA alkaline batteries in mine.

I ended up getting them to be "good enough" by really careful placement at a low level with the trigger coming from crossing the sensor rather than moving towards the PIR. My previous experience had been with hue motion sensors which have been brilliant

Yeah, these need rechargeable batteries to function. I believe some portion of this was fixed in an OTA update but they work perfectly fine with rechargeables pre-update.
