Hello, i bought a homeassistant voice pe and tried it out with homeassistant running on a raspi 4. The Results were pretty bad, ( as a informed buyer maybe would knew). I have to speak slow and really clear and even then it unstands only 30 % of my sentences. I tried running wyoming faster wisper on a intel i3 (13 th gen) which makes a bit better but still not very enjoyably.

Are there any recommendations for better hardware to run faster wisper ? Or is there a good german model that runs nice on CPU ?

If you don't use LLMs you can try rhasspy-speech for STT

I tried rhasspy but it does not work very good with german

I use whisper.cpp running on my mac mini m4. key was to use the large model. the understanding of german on this is much better. but be aware, the processing time depends on the server power
