Looking for advice about a device to buy? Remember to provide guidance on:

  • Which country you're in
  • What your budget is
  • What protocols you prefer (eg Zigbee, WiFi, Z-Wave)
  • Any features you want (such as power monitoring, dimming, etc)

You could try a Switchbot Bot, to physically press the kettle button?

in theory any tuya kettle should be fine, but I haven't found any specific ones yet

and @white drum: There are a coupe of Alexa-compatible kettles that you should be able to link to HomeAssistant via Alexa. No idea if they have EU plugs but I'd assume they probably have EU equivalents (these are UK links)

initially I looked at that list and none of the devices seemed to be available in EU, but I think you're right, WeeKett is definitely sold on German Amazon with EU plugs, I'll take another look

Silvercrest is a Lidl in house brand, so I'd expect those to be available with a Euro plug. And Setti+ was a Polish brand.

i just got this kettle, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MVRFBNN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title (korex ax-wf306), whose title certainly suggested homeassistant compatibility, but I'm bummed to find out that the tuya integration does not in fact support this kettle. it works in the Tuya/SmartLife android app, but is marked as unsupported when the HA tuya integration adds the device. worth opening a ticket somewhere? i've tried playing around with tuya-local but the tuya developer portal bugs out on me and i can't see the devices that i have in the app.

USA here 🤢🤮. i didn't see any of the supported kettles on amazon

idk how this all works but i did a port scan on the kettle, nothing is open :/ $ nmap -p- 192.168.x.x so im thinking maybe this thing won't be workable locally?
