I was looking for a new voice to use with piper for my TTS Announcements.. I used this website to sample voices: https://rhasspy.github.io/piper-samples/
When I finally settled on a voice, i was sad to discover it wasn't available within the addon on my home assistant installation.
Why is this? And what can I (or anyone else) do to fix that issue?

No, its all showing fine. No errors, nothing.
Addon is up-to-date too. But im missing a lot of voices.

so one thing is, I am not sure the rhasspy piper is the same as the home assistant addon one
I don't run the addon, I run piper outside HA in it's own container with GPU acceleration, so mine may be different 😅
Maybe someone who uses the addon can chime in

I don't mind running it as a separate container. I am just using it for home assistant, for tts reminders and announcements. I don't really use voice assistants rn because of privacy concerns.

Yeah, just waiting for mature hardware to make the investment.

well I mean, you can buy a used gtx 1080 and get response times of 250ms or so using large-v3 model in whisper
I am using a 4060ti and get 200ms or less responses for tts and stt 🙂
while also having a LLM loaded

Okay, cool! But none of this really helps me at this time.
Can someone please shine a light on why these voice models are not available in my installation/the official addon?

hmm so I just installed the addon in HA for laughs, and I see all the voices, including amy-medium :/
Is your addon up to date?

Yes, and yes
I reinstalled the addon and now I do see all voices.
Weird, that shouldn't be necessary for the voices to show up. My addon was up-to-date and everything.
Now the wyoming integration is not autodiscovering the addon
