#SmartThings token says "see devices" not "control devices"

I have HA running on Proxmox and for three or so years I have had control of my Samsung A/C within HA with the SmartThings integration. After the last Z2M upgrade, I needed to restore an old backup from PBS and found the SmartThings integration gone. I setup a new SmartThings integration on my NabuCasa address, and generated a token as per the documentation making sure that all "control" checkboxes were ticked, but when permitting HA to access the API I am presented with "Allow Home Assistant to see all devices" - no mention of control. If I allow the integration, I can see what the A/C is doing, but if I change the mode/temp, etc, I get a message "Failed to perform the action climat/set_hvac_mode. Too many requests (429):....." and I can't control the unit. Has anyone experienced same and do you have any advice on what I need to do? Thanks in advance.
