#Home Assistant Companion App Freezing on macOS 15.2 After Update – Need Help with Fresh Installation

I am using the Home Assistant Companion app on my M4 Mac running macOS 15.2 (24C101). The app had been working perfectly until I recently updated to the latest version (2024.12.2 - build 1048) from the App Store. Since the update, the app opens and loads my dashboard but freezes after a few minutes.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
1. I uninstalled the latest version and reinstalled the previous one, but the issue persists — the app still freezes after a short time.
2. I deleted the group.io.robbie.homeassistant folder and reinstalled the application, but that didn’t resolve the issue.
3. Did a complete app reset from the preference.
3. I noticed that simply deleting the app doesn’t remove the app’s database. I also tried resetting the app from Preferences, but it didn’t help.

My Questions:
1. Is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue?
2. How can I completely remove the app and its associated data to perform a truly fresh installation?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I can not join the beta tester program; it seems the beta is full. Do you think downloading from the repo will work?

i did, and I still have the same issue, it will work for a few seconds if I remove everything, then go back to the not responding state. I think I am not completely removing it. I can see my account logged in after the installation. is there a way to completely remove it?

Your server info is restored because the information is saved on keychain, not in the app itself. can you send me a screen recording of how far can you get after opening the app? Are you able to open companion app settings?

Btw, if you download an older version of the app, does the issue goes away?

Joined beta tester programme and installed the test version. Same issue. I have tried to record it.

It worked fine for a bit. then it got stuck again. Here in this video, the cursor shows the loading

Can you open the app settings using the top bar?

If it works with an older version of the app, please export the app logs as soon as it opens

I dont see an export log option in the log list

after bening stuck for a lon time it will work for a bit, i tried to find the logs, logs are there but no export

Is it same as the logs in group.io.robbie.homeassistant folder

The path should be something like
/Users/<user>/Library/Group Containers/group.io.robbie.homeassistant/logs

I have submitted the same 2 times; the first one was when I was using the older app, and the latest one is from the test flight app

Weirdly enough your logs dont show any infinite loop or something like this.

Which mac app versions have you tried till now?

Can you leave it frozen for a while to see if whatever it is doing ends at some point?

If I leave it, it will return after 10-15 minutes and then freeze again after a few minutes. So strange, I dont see anything unusual in the cpu or memory

What do you have in your main dashboard? perhaps one of the cards is causing the problem

oh that's interesting, let me check that, When it started working after a bit, I kept the app in the settings screen, let's see if it is going to freeze again
